In collaboration with schleswig-holstein musik festival and daniel hope, I designed the SHMF 2024 finale at Kiel’s Wunderino Arena. The 90-minute visual concert showcased a mix of works by composers such as Dobrinka Tabakova, Wojciech Kilar, Astor Piazzolla, J.S. Bach, and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
Inspired by the festival’s Venice theme, the stage was designed to resemble a reflective water surface, creating the illusion of floating performers. A 15-meter LED wall, positioned at a 90-degree angle over the floor, surrounded the orchestra with dynamic landscapes, offering an immersive experience for over 5,000 audience members.
The show was designed as a digital opera, with visuals tailored to each piece of music. Vivaldi’s Four Seasons inspired dramatic, poetic themes tied to its original sonnets, while Venice—with its architecture, landscapes, and cultural history—guided the creative process and visual storytelling.
I'm Immeasurably grateful to the shmf team for their professionalism and support, Michael Valentin for impeccably directing the live show, Cobra sound light for the flawless technical setup, Aman Bhuyan for his precious help with environment Art, Florian Wilkens for the live Video Operation, and of course the virtuosic Daniel hope and the Hope orchestra.
All visuals were created using Unreal Engine 5
